Professor Alex Frino, Chief Executive Officer |

Alex Frino is a Professor of Finance at the University of Sydney. He has a PhD in Finance from the University of Sydney and a Master of Philosophy in Finance from Cambridge University. Alex has strong links with both capital markets industry and academia in Australia and internationally and is a major advocate and motivator for closer collaboration between the two. Alex has published more than 100 research papers and one book and he has held visiting appointments at the SFE and Credit Suisse First Boston. He is a Certified Practising Accountant and serves on the Disciplinary Tribunal of the ASX.

Michael Aitken is widely regarded as the most industry-centric academic associated with Australian capital markets. As the founder and former CEO of SIRCA (www.sirca.org.au), he has used his industry affiliations to build and share infrastructure which now underwrites the research activities of 30+ universities across Asia-Pacific. Working through SMARTS Group (www.smartsgroup.com), he has designed the world's first "off-the-shelf" surveillance software now in use at 40 national exchanges and regulators (including the London Stock Exchange, NYSE-Euronext, Nasdaq-OMX, HK Exchanges, the Swiss Exchange and the Australian Securities Exchange) and 150 brokers across 30 countries. He leads the research initiatives of the CMCRC which currently includes providing fully outsourced surveillance services to the securities industry as well as outsourced surveillance technology to the health insurance and general insurance sectors.

Professor Masud Behnia, Education Director |

Masud Behnia earned his BS, MS and PhD from Purdue University. Prior to starting his academic career he had an extensive period in the power industry. From 2003 to 2008 he was the Dean of Graduate Studies at Sydney University and prior to that he was a Professor and Director of Graduate Studies at UNSW. Masud was also a Monbusho Professor at Kyushu University and later at Tohoku University and has supervised more than 35 postgraduate research students and has produced more than 350 refereed papers.

David Jonas is the Chief Executive of Capital Markets Technology and Capital Markets Consulting. He is responsible for the CMCRC's commercialisation activities. David founded Australia's largest privately-held electronic commerce consulting firm, ETC Electronic Trading Concepts. The company was acquired in 2000. David's ground breaking involvement in electronic commerce has seen him appointed to a range of Australian and European Union Government bodies.

Ann Leduc, CEO EWS Consulting Services |

Ann is responsible for the development and commercialisation of our consulting activities in securities markets, building on her wide-ranging experience in capital markets. Before joining us, she was the founding Secretary General of the Canadian Securities Administrators, and as chief operating officer led the institutional development of this council of the securities regulatory authorities in Canada. She has also previously been the manager of the policy division of the securities regulator in Quebec (Canada), a member of the Faculty of Management at McGill University, a currency and money market trader with National Westminster Bank of Canada, a fixed income portfolio manager with the Ontario Municipal Employee Retirement System, and a senior manager for the National Bank of Canada.
Ann holds an MBA from York University, a BA in Economics from McGill University and is fluent in English and French. |

Dr Will Renner, Senior Education Manager |

Will Renner joined the CMCRC in January 2008. He holds a PhD from Monash University, a G. Dip (Ed) from the University of Sydney, a BSc (Hons) from Murdoch and a BA / BBus from Curtin University. Will has more than 10 years experience in university teaching and administration, including Business Information Systems and e-Communications. He has 5 years experience as an IT consultant with Siemans (Japan) where he was assigned to projects with Morgan Stanley and Microsoft. Prior to joining the CMCRC he was an academic at the University of Sydney.

Bruce Ritchie, Marketing Manager |

Bruce Ritchie is the Marketing, Media and Communications manager for the CMCRC and holds an Economics degree from Portsmouth University in the UK. Bruce has extensive experience in a business and marketing career which includes trading large volume timber contracts sourced from Scandinavia, Russia and North America and Marketing Australian investment property to domestic and international markets.

Shan Ji, Research Manager |

Shan Ji joined the CMCRC in January 2010. He holds a PhD in Finance from University of New South Wales and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) in Finance from University of Western Australia. Shan’s PhD research studies securities market manipulation and the assurance market integrity. Prior to joining CMCRC, Shan was the Lead Business Analyst at SMARTS Group International which is the world leading provider of securities markets surveillance technology.

Annette Tello, Financial Controller and Company Secretary |

Annette Tello commenced with the CMCRC in April 2009 and was appointed to her current role of Financial Controller and Company Secretary of Capital Markets CRC Limited and its subsidiaries in June 2010. She is responsible for financial and management accounting and corporate governance compliance. Annette has significant accounting and finance experience gained from working for more than 15 years in a wide variety of positions and organisations. Annette holds a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology, Sydney and is a member of CPA Australia.
