| CMCRC awards scholarships to 13 Honour students |

August 10, 2005 2005 marked a special achievement for 13 selected students. At an informal celebration attended by students, researchers and CMCRC staff, CMCRC Education Director, Graham Partington, awarded 13 scholarships to students from The University of Sydney, University of New South Wales, The University of Technology Sydney, Macquarie University, and University of Western Australia. Out of the 13 scholarships awarded, 7 were in the areas of Finance, 3 in Accounting, 2 in Information Technology and 1 in Finance and IT. CMCRC Education Director, Graham Partington described the scholarships as a mark of high achievement by each of the students. Whilst supporting their Honours year, students are also introduced to the Capital Markets CRC with the intention of encouraging the students to further pursue their research by joining the CMCRC’s PhD program. CMCRC CEO, Prof Michael Aitken shared the previous achievements by students who joined in the CMCRC’s PhD program. The CMCRC PhD program provide students the opportunity to work on their research along side industry partners to develop technology which is capable of bridging a gap in the world’s financial market and hence lead to commercialization.
